Welcome to the Road Ahead - the Auto Club's initiative to help keep you moving. Over the last several years, California voters have stepped up to support efforts to invest in the state's transportation infrastructure and improve congestion by approving billions of dollars in state bonds and local sales taxes for highway, local road, and public transit improvements. The message has been clear - improving mobility and making our roads safer must be a higher priority for state and local officials responsible for our transportation network. However, money is only part of the challenge. Now we must make sure that the money is spent on the most effective projects quickly and efficiently. This website provides information on major transportation initiatives and helps you make your voice heard on transportation issues by directly contacting your elected officials.
State government officials may try to hit motorists with higher taxes or fees to address continuing budget deficits. Write your elected officials today to let them know that they need to fix the budget problem without imposing unfair fees on motorists.
